Itinerary:

The service includes pre-trip assistance, which will be provided the day before your tour. During this briefing, you’ll receive useful information and recommendations for your trip.

About two and a half hours before your train departure, our staff will meet you at your hotel to escort you to the Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you’ll board your assigned train for a scenic 1 hour and 40-minute ride to Aguas Calientes, the town closest to Machu Picchu. A representative will be waiting for you to assist you upon arrival.

To reach Machu Picchu, you will take a 20-minute bus ride that will bring you directly to the entrance. Once there, you’ll pass through the entrance controls with your guide and group before starting your 2.5-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu. Afterward, your guide will accompany you back to Aguas Calientes for some free time before heading to the train station for your return journey. The train ride back to the starting station will take approximately 2 hours, after which we will return to Cusco.

Recommendations:

• Remember to bring your passport or identity documents; you will need them for all the controls along the route.
• Tickets can be presented either in printed or virtual form.
• There is a baggage limit of 8 kilograms per person on the train.
• Wear comfortable clothing and footwear, as the journey is long, but the hike at the site is not strenuous and does not require specialized equipment.
• As you will be in a cloud forest region, make sure to bring insect repellent and sunscreen.
• Depending on the time of year, remember to pack warm clothes for the early and late hours of the day, and/or a rain poncho.
